Update: Where in the World are Elizabeth and Ronen?

I know it has been over six months since my last post and a lot has happened in that time. Ronen and I decided to return to Kona, Hawaii in December with big dreams of starting our own dive and snorkel business. We had hoped that by showing people the beauty that hides beneath the shimmering ocean surface, we might incite a passion to protect its inhabitants. Unfortunately, after months of planning, creating a business plan, designing a logo and getting everything ready to begin our new adventure, the day we were going to purchase our boat, the County of Hawaii closed the commercial ramp permitting process, shutting down our dreams.

We are now trying to figure out a new direction, a new path. It’s been a struggle realizing that we ended one dream to begin another, only to have that dream go up in smoke before it even began; but I have to believe that there is a reason for it, that we were meant to return to Kona, but not for the reason we chose, for some other reason. Until we figure out what our new adventure will be, I have been guiding dolphin and manta snorkels as well as teaching diving while Ronen is working as a boat captain.

I also have some catching up to do on the last few stops of our travels, so I will post some new blogs about that as well as any adventures we go on here in Hawaii.

Much love and aloha from the Big Island.
