Heading East…our adventure begins, NOW!

I can’t believe we are actually leaving today. In nine hours, we will be on a plane to Iceland! For so long it has seemed liked a distant grand idea; now it is materializing into a full-fledged adventure with my best friend all over this incredible planet of ours. Today, I realized that not only are we traveling the world, we are traveling the only world known to inhabit life, which kinda makes it even more freaking awesome. I have been reflecting on that fact and on all my previous life adventures. It has made me think about all those moments and people who have brought me to this point in my life. The point where I said screw the norm, I wanna be in this moment, right now, I mean actually be in it and live it.

The biggest impact I have ever had on my life was the loss of my brother. He was my best friend, someone I could be weird with, who understood me unlike anyone else did. My loss has molded me into who I am and how I view the world around me. My loss has made me more aware of how lucky we are just to walking around on this planet everyday, breathing the cool crisp air on a chilly fall morning, smelling the fragrance of an angel’s trumpet at dusk in Hawaii, hearing the laughter of those we love fill the room, feeling someones embrace completely envelop you, tasting the richest chocolate soufflé melt in your mouth.  These are the simple things that we so often take for granted or look past, but they are the true blessings in life. It’s not how much money you make or what car you drive, it’s the people you surround yourself with and how you show them your love that matters. Those are the things we take with us forever.

So, I have set out to surround myself with amazing people both in my daily life and throughout my travels. I am lucky enough to have the only other person who has really understood me, my husband, as my travel companion, so I am already off to a great start. I can’t wait to make memories with you my love!

Stay tuned for Elizabeth and Ronen, explore7x7! Much love and Aloha!
